This story isn't over.

The Boston Celtics are actively taking and making calls to try to facilitate a trade involving All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown. Just a few days ago we still questioned if Jaylen Brown would even be included in a deal for Giannis. The next day we had confirmation that Brown would be in the deal. One more day later, the Bucks have rejected the Celtics' offer of Jaylen Brown and two first-round picks for Giannis.

Before the draft yesterday, NBA insider Shams Charania reported that the Celtics were not just taking calls for Jaylen Brown, but making trade calls as well. He also reported that the Celtics seemed very "intentional" with their actions. Clearly Shams has the inside scoop here that the Celtics are actively engaging in trade talks and it's not just window dressing.

Today, Chris Mannix from SI reported that the Celtics were indeed continuing to shop Jaylen Brown and were hunting for a big man in return for the player. Who they are engaging with I don't know, but Chris also speculated that the Celtics could have interest in Evan Mobley.

Although the Celtics might be a better basketball team if they keep Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown together, it seems that the writing is on the wall. The Celtics ARE shopping Jaylen Brown, and there is a strong likelihood that he does not return to the Celtics for the 2026-27 season.

We should have more action in the coming days.
