Well, AJ Brown, signed, sealed, delivered! With that, we move on to the next Pats rumor. One that came up today, but was overrun by the AJ news, was the Patriots being linked/interested in Giants LB Kayvon Thibodeaux. Thibodeaux, 25, was the 5th overall pick for the New York Giants in 2022 and has been a solid asset to their defense since.

In his only full season with the team, Thibodeaux posted 11.5 sacks in 2023 to go along with 48 tackles. In 2025, Thibodeaux was only able to rack up 2.5 sacks while being limited to 10 games. That said, with the Giants entering the Harbaugh era and already making big-time trades such as the Dexter Lawrence deal, Thibodeaux may be on the move. Why not make the call?

Thibodeaux is entering a contract year, and the Pats may be able to work out a bargain with New York. There's a lot of talk surrounding Kayshon Boutte after the AJ deal, and I could see him being dealt for Thibodeaux straight up. That said, if the Patriots decide they want to hold on to KB, there's a lot of draft capital they could work with. They already dealt one 5th rounder for AJ, they might as well use the other one (received a second from the Bradbury trade) to add another EDGE.

Personally, I wouldn't value Thibodeaux much higher than that considering his availability, contract year, and recent performances. That said, I do think there's more talent to be dug out from him, and I think our depth chart has the perfect fit for him.
