Here is the round-up of Day 2 of the New England Patriots Training Camp (27 July 2026):

🏈 The standout performers of the day

Christian Gonzalez (CB)

* The star cornerback was one of the most impressive defenders on the pitch.
* He successfully defended several passes, once again confirming his status as a lockdown cornerback.

Craig Woodson (S)

* Recorded the first interception of the training camp.
* The ball was initially deflected, but Woodson reacted quickly and caught it securely.

Milton Williams (DT)

* Applied consistent pressure on the pass rush.
* Got into the backfield on several occasions and made life difficult for the offensive linemen.

Andy Borregales (K)

* A perfect day for the rookie kicker.
* Converted all six field goals from distances between 30 and 50 yards.

Behren Morton (QB3)

* Put in his best session so far.
* Finished team drills with 5 out of 6 completed passes and impressed with his composure in the pocket.

πŸ“ˆ Further observations

* The defence once again dominated large parts of the training session.
* Following a running-heavy first session, the passing game was incorporated much more this time.
* The coordination between Drake Maye and the offence is being further refined. A key focus was on timing and rhythm in the passing game.

πŸš‘ Injury update

Still not taking part in team training:

* Harold Landry III (PUP)
* C.J. Dippre (PUP)
* Brenden Schooler (NFI)
* Terrell Jennings (NFI)

Mike Vrabel once again declined to give a specific timeline for Landry’s return.

My impressions

After two days of training, the following stands out in particular:

* The defence is playing with high intensity and forcing turnovers.
* Christian Gonzalez already looks in top form.
* Milton Williams is providing the expected explosive push along the defensive line.
* The offence is still looking for more consistency, though things already looked better in the second training session than they did at the start
